USNWC Water Regulations

All PTC Colab attendees must read and agree to the following USNWC Water Regulations:

All paddlers must always stay on or in their craft. No intentional wading or swimming is permitted in our channels. 

Required Safety Equipment 

For rafts/kayaks/SUPs: 

  • Type III or V Whitewater Specific PFD 
  • Whitewater rated helmet (CE or EN 1385) 
  • Appropriate footwear with a heal strap 

Acceptable Crafts 

  • Whitewater specific kayaks 
  • All whitewater inflatables need to be constructed of Hypalon, PVC, or Urethane based  composition 
  • Catarafts (maximum of 2 paddlers per craft) 
  • SUPs (leashes are not allowed, No conveyer belt access) 
  • River Boards (whitewater specific, No conveyer belt access) 
  • 2-man, 4-man, and 6-man rafts (8-man rafts not permitted)
    • Rafts cannot be larger than 14 feet long 
    • A Whitewater Center raft guide is required to guide all 4- and 6-man rafts.
    • 2-man/mini rafts do not require a Whitewater Center guide as long as they do not  exceed 2 people in the craft. 
  • -Whitewater Operations management holds the right to deem any craft unfit for use in our whitewater channel. This is done for the safety of the participants of the craft, our rafting  guests, as well as the private paddlers on the water. 

Unacceptable Gear 

  • Vinyl inflatables 
  • Inner tubes 
  • Surf Boards 
  • Bike Helmets 
  • Flatwater or wakeboarding PFD’s 
  • SUP tethers/leashes
